MyDoom Virus is Spreading Rapidly ...

For All Applications, All Operating Systems, and All Domains

This notice from SBC Internet Services is to alert you to an Internet worm called W32.Mydoom.M@mm (alternate versions of the worm are designated as W32/Mydoom.o@MM, W32/MyDoom-O, WORM_MYDOOM.M, and Win32.Mydoom.O). It is a mass-mailing worm that infects computers via email in the form of an attachment file with a .bat, .cmd, .com, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip extension. Once installed on a computer, Mydoom scans local files on the hard drive and sends itself to all email addresses it finds. When sent to those addresses, the name of the file may include any given domain it happens to find on the infected system (e.g., user@somedomain.com). This could result in mass infected files on the hard drive of each infected computer.
