Microsoft will launch a new update for Windows XP called Service Pack 2 (XP SP2) around the middle of August. Microsoft developed XP SP2 to address recent Internet security issues associated with the Windows XP operating system and the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. Microsoft will make XP SP2 available to users of Windows XP Home Edition, XP Professional, XP Tablet PC Edition, and XP Media Center Edition.
Initial XP SP2 testing by SBC Internet Services indicates that SBC Internet Services and features may be impacted once the new service pack has been downloaded and installed. SBC Internet Services is currently developing updates to decrease the impact. If we notify you that an SBC Internet Services update is available, please make sure that you accept and install all necessary software.
If you have any concerns or issues with XP SP2 that are non-SBC Internet Services related, please contact Microsoft:
