Windows Netscape Communicator Messenger Setup

Setting Up a New Mailbox

1. If your Netscape Communicator program is running, click on the File menu and select Exit
2. From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs, then Netscape Communicator
3. In Netscape Communicator, choose Utilities, then User Profile Manager
4. You will see the Profile Manager screen, click on the "New" button

   

5. You will see the New Profile Setup screen
6. For the "Full Name" entry, input the name you wish to appear on the outgoing messages sent from the mailbox
7. For the "E-mail Address (if available)" entry, input the complete e-mail address for the mailbox
8. Click on "Next" button to continue
9. You will see a continuation of the New Profile Setup screen
10. For the "Profile name" entry, input the userID for the new mailbox
11. Click on "Next" button

    

12. You will see the Mail and Discussion Groups Setup screen
13. For the "Your name" entry, input the name you wish to appear on the outgoing messages sent from the new mailbox (same as the previous "Full name" entry)
14. For the "E-mail Address" entry, input the complete e-mail address for the new mailbox (same as the previous "E-mail address" entry)
15. For the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" entry, input: mail.nvbell.net
16. Click on the "Next" button to continue
17. You will see a continuation of the Mail and Discussion Groups Setup screen
18. For the "Mail server user name" entry, input the userID for the new mailbox
19. For the "Incoming Mail Server" entry, input: postoffice.nvbell.net
20. Click on the "Next" button to continue
21. You will see a continuation of the Mail and Discussion Groups Setup screen
22. For the "News (NNTP) server" entry, input: news.la.sbcglobal.net or news.sf.sbcglobal.net
23. Click on the "Finish" button to complete setting up the new mailbox
24. Congratulations! Your Netscape Communicator Messenger program has been setup with your new mailbox.
